Welcome to the Compass Points Challenge, 2009. This is a pretty easy challenge but I wanted something do-able for my first attempt at hosting. Between March 1, 2009 and August 31, 2009, you must read one book each with a title echoing the four main compass points: North, South, East, and West. These can be from any genre, fiction or non-fiction but they must have the word north, south, east, or west in the title. Bonus points to anyone reading Ellen Raskin's The Westing Game, which was the inspiration for this challenge. :-)

Alright, I wasn't gonna join at first but you mentioning The Westing Game-- one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE BOOKS OMG-- convinced me to do it. :D

ReplyDeleteThis sounds great! I think I know what my East, West, and North books will be; just got to decide on South. Cheers! Abbie
ReplyDeleteI've found books that fit the challenge and will link when I've got a post written. I'd like to join please. My books will probably be:
ReplyDeleteWest With the Night by Beryl Markham

ReplyDeleteThis will be a fun challenge!
ReplyDeleteThe AwardWinners-Classics Yahoo Group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AwardWinners-Classics/) has chosen Elizabeth Gaskell's "North and South" for its April read. It might be of interest to anyone doing this challenge - with the added advantage that the book can serve for either of two compass points!
ReplyDeleteK I'll give this a go. Shouldn't be joining anymore challenges. But just can't resist.
